The Fattoria Pieve a Salti agricultural company consists of a single body of approximately 700 hectares located on the Senesi hills in the Crete area.
Since its foundation, the production method adopted has been semi-extensive and this has involved the extensive use of long rotations centered
on the role of improving fodder (legumes) grown in alternation with ancient and minor cereals typical of the area within which the operator carries out his activity.
This has led to adherence to the voluntary certification scheme for organic farming since 1996. In fact,
the owner has always seen organic agriculture as a resource, that is, the concrete possibility of producing healthy food, in a sustainable way
respectful of the reference agro-environment.
The quest to reduce the impact of one's activities, to close the production and transformation cycle and therefore be able to produce food kilometer zero has led, starting from 1998, to the implementation of a company plant for the transformation of self-produced cereals.
